Apostolic Succession
When Jesus consecrated His original apostles, He was giving them the
authority which His Father had given Him to establish and build His
church. In doing so, He was preparing the church in it’s infancy to
establish a succession of leadership that would be able to continue
unbroken for so long as His return tarried. He was also making
provision for having leadership spread through out the then known
world in order to expedite the establishment of churches and church
government over large areas of land.
From the very beginning we see the legitimacy of passing the mantle
of leadership from within. This is demonstrated in the Book of Acts
(1:20, 25, 26). These scriptures deal with the death of Judas
Iscariot and his replacement as an apostle and bishop through
election by lot of the remaining eleven original apostles.
One of the first joint actions taken by the twelve was to create
Holy Sees (the personal area of control and leadership over a
specified area.) By doing so, they created apostolic lines of
succession for each of them. Unto Andrew was conferred the area
surrounding and generally to the north of the territories around the
Bosporus and Black Seas (modern day Turkey and Southern Russia.)
UKCF falls under the line of Andrew. Other apostles were given
responsibilities for other areas, i.e., Thomas to India and its
surrounding area and Peter to Rome and its surrounding area.
There were often large areas of territory in which very few bishops
had been consecrated. The original twelve Apostles were authorized
to consecrate new Bishops by themselves. Subsequently, three bishops
were required to consecrate a new bishop. Over time bishops from one
line would visit areas that were predominately covered by other
apostolic lineage. Occasionally, a bishop in one line would request
a bishop, or bishops of other apostolic lineage to join with him in
consecrating a new bishop. Because of this cross participation in
consecrating new bishops, apostolic lines began to merge over the
centuries.
When we look at our Andrew’s (the Bishop of Ukraine) apostolic
lineage, we find that Peter’s (the Bishop of Rome) apostolic line
joins it in the late ninth century A. D. and James (the Bishop of
Jerusalem) lineage joining Andrew’s in the eighteenth century.
Pastor Sherwin Smith, being a Pentecostal preacher, was consecrated
by Metropolitan Ron Pace, with Robert Niznik (Poland), John
Kelly (New York) and became a Bishop of The Ukrainian Autocephalous
National-Orthodox Church of America and Europe in 2001, at the
Church of Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
Just as the Patriarchate (gathering of bishops which oversee an area
within a Holy See) in Constantinople created the Holy See of Moscow,
Metropolitan Ronald K. Pace of the Ukrainian Autocepahlous
Orthodox Church in the year of our Lord, two thousand three A.D.
conferred his blessings on the creation of a new patriarchate to be
known as The United Kingdom of Christ Fellowship, thus, creating a
new Andrewian Protestant Apostolic Line. Where, Archbishop Sherwin Smith Ph.D. is the Founder and Presiding
Bishop of this Royal Apostolic Church Covering.
Our Mission
The United Kingdom of Christ Fellowship Edifying the Royal Priesthood
Episcopacy
We, The United Kingdom of Christ Fellowship (“UKCF”), as believers
and servants of Jesus Christ, having recognized areas of
inadequately addressed needs within the body of Christ. We have
recognized that the primary cause of this inadequacy is the lack of
ministering to God (Ezek 44: 15). We, as bishops, apostles,
prophets, pastors, priest, teachers, evangelist, deacons, praise and
worship leaders, and other workers with spiritual callings have been
mostly ministering to the people of the House of God (Ezek
44:10-13). Too often we have neglected our first love - ministering
to God.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God.” Therefore, this Episcopacy, with Apostolic Succession, was formed to
establish this Reformation to assist ourselves and other spiritual
leaders in our personal search for righteousness and true holiness
as we serve God’s people.
In Ezekiel 44, we noticed there are two types of Levitical priest
from Aaron. One: The Levites, whose focus was on the people of God. Two: The Levites, sons of Zadok, whose focus was ministering to God.
The sons of Zadok (Sons of Righteousness), of the Old Testament was
a precursor of the New Testament priesthood established by Jesus
Christ, after the Order of Melchisedeck in the Book of Hebrews.
Heb 7:1-2 1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God,
who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and
blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by
interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of
Salem, which is, King of peace;
We see that Jesus and Melchisdeck were kings and priests.
Heb 7:11-12 11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for
under it the people received the law,) what further need was there
that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and
not be called after the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a
change also of the law.
We received Paul’s proclamation that the priesthood changed from the
Levitical priesthood of the Order of Aaron to the Order of Melchisdeck. Jesus, as chief priest in the Order of Melchisdeck, had
as His primary focus a walk that pleased the Father. Through this
walk, He ministers to all people and calls His priesthood to do
likewise.
We receive His charge to become Sons of Zadok, (Sons of
Righteousness) after the Order of Melchideck and therefore fulfill
Revelation 5:10. “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth.”
As we walk as God’s kings, the spirit of poverty will be broken not
only in us, but also in those whom we serve. And as God’s priest, we
are allowed to come nearer to God to minister unto Him.
